Welcome to the Senior Creative Art Class opportunities at the VAW Gallery Shop at the Seaway Mall.

Because class sizes are limited, you have to have your name added to the sign-up list at the Gallery Shop at the Seaway Mall, or contact Deedee or Pam first to see if there is still room:

Time: 1 - 4 pm
Levels: Classes range in levels, please see each class below for more details
Materials: All materials are provided
Cost: Each 3 hour class is $40.00
(Some classes have two sessions spread over two separate Sundays, with equals $80. See Class descriptions for more info)

Steve will be guiding you through how to paint realistic raindrops.
Intro to Abstract Expressionism with Karen Sparks

Alcohol Inks with Debra Zubrinich
If you missed her the first session, you are in luck. Debra Zubrinich returns with her Alcohol Inks class. This gorgeous medium can be used to create bold, bright pieces with an abstract flow to them and Debra has loads of experience she is willing to share with you.
Watercolour with Karen Visentin
Karen Visentin returns for another educational, fun and creative watercolour class that will expand your abilities. As with the first class (May 28th), Karen is open to assisting you with any questions you may have regarding supplies you already possess and their use.
Blended Acrylic and Drop painting with Pam Duncan and Marilyn Nevills (Part 2)
Two classes - Aug 13 and Aug 20 - should plan to take both.
You will be guided by Pam Duncan and Marilyn Nevills in how to create a blended acrylic background and learn the art of drop painting. Two different canvases will be created by each student and at the end fo the second class you will be able to take them home to show your admirers.

Animal Silhouette Moon rises
Learn how to paint with Acrylics using a vinyl cutout on canvas.
Choose from 4 animal silhouettes - Wolf, Eagle, Horse and Deer. (See samples here)
We will be painting a black and white moon set over water.
Exploring Watercolour with Karen Visentin
Come learn various painting techniques to get you comfortable with watercolour while creating a unique to yourself still life with a floral subject. If you have watercolour pencils or similar that you wish to bring to class and have her guide you in their use, she will welcome this as well.
Botanical Watercolours with Lillina Pasqua - Class #2
This is the second class. It will be a continuation of your lesson with Lillina to expand your knowledge of botanical painting using photo references and different techniques to create a beautiful work of art.

Botanical Watercolours with Lillina Pasqua
If you like the detail of botanical watercolours, the next two classes are for you. Lillina Pasqua is an experienced artist who will start your instruction with explanations and demonstrations, warm up practice pieces and developing your painting.

Alcohol Inks with Debra Zubrinich
Learn from a master with Debra Zubrinich, teaching alcohol inks in this new class. Have fun finding out about this beautiful and unique medium with Deb as your guide.
Acrylic Abstract with Irina Laucius
Irina returns with a fascinating and fun acrylic abstract class.
Pencil/Graphite portraits with Jane Marshall
Learn the basics of portraiture from an accomplished artist.
Introduction to iPad with Deedee
This course will give participants an opportunity to have hands on instruction on the basics of using an iPad, helping them to feel less inhibited with the technology and seeing if an iPad is the direction they wish to go.
Watercolours on Canvas, with Pam Duncan and Marilyn Nevills
Beginners Level- showing steps to using watercolours on canvas with hands on experience given on prepared canvases. Guided instruction in creating a finished piece that shows how to create light effects, shadows and dimension on a picture of pottery jars.
Watercolours with a Twist, with Pam Duncan and Marilyn Nevills
Beginners Level including tools, papers, washes, masking, tips and tricks and things to avoid when working with watercolours. Different surfaces will be offered for use and one finished piece will be done in class featuring a Sunflower with foliage.
